Independent Reading Responses Block 2

Give the title, author, publisher, copyright date, genre (how do you know the genre -from the back of the book, title page, text?), a description of the cover of the book, and the main character(s) that you have met so far and on what page you first met them. Use complete sentences and ensure that you have proficient mechanics.

I'm reading Dreamland By:Sarah Dessen. The publisher is Penguin Group. It was published in the year 2000.The genre is Realistic fiction. The I know that because of the first paragraph of the book its something that could be capable to happen in  real life, like running away. The cover of this book is blue and clam. Its has a harbor , with a girl looking at the water surrounding her. The first charter and main character is a girl named Catlin, I met her in page 1. Next was her sister Cassandra but goes by Cass i met her on page 3 when she runaway. I met their mother on page 5 because she was crying about Cass running away. I met there dad when he was crying along side with his wife on page 5. I met there neighbors on page 7 when they came to say happy birthday to Catlin I met Rogeson catlins boyfriend on page 50 when Catlin met her at party. I think what made me continue reading this book is that its very interesting with a lot of wonderful details.

  1. Lexi,

Not bad for your first blog. You hit all the basic parts of the question. I appreciate how you say how you met the characters (what was going on).

    Grade: 4
    Next Step:
Presentation: Look at our blogs to see how you should set yours up. Your title of your response, bibliography info, and the number of paragraphs (2-3).

    Spelling: check yours
Sentences: work on being complete and varied in length.
Details: What does the first paragraph say that tells you this is realistic fiction?
Why do you think the cover is calm? Are there any words on the cover?
    What date was this published?
Why are you reading this book?

To get advanced: What do you think about the cover? What is going on in the book so far (use more complete sentences).
